DONUT FACOTRY

I joined the donut-queuing craze today!!! Yupz, I went to queue for Donut Factory's donut at Raffles City. I was supposed to reach there at 1030 hr but was late because I had to settle some things at the bank. Inflexible and I had to argue my way through before everything was settled. Wasted so much of my precious time just for something so simple - authorisation for GIRO form.

Okay back to my queuing craze. I reached there at around 1100 hr (paiseh ah!!!)and realised that there was quite a long queue there already. Luckily there was Devil Tan's sis' bf who reached there at 1000 hr and thus earned us the title of being "the first customers of 27 July 2007"! Oh, and we saw Wan Zi Liang at Raffles City with his pretty wife and his very young son. If you dont know who is Uncle Wan, then let me enlighten you. Remember Jin Zhen Tou/ Golden Pillow? He's the leading actor of the show. Lame show i must say. Hahaha~ No pictures of him cause we were too shy to ask to be photographed with him.

We met Devil Goh for her lunch and we proceeded to this dessert cafe at Carltex house/ The Arcade to have mango sago. Damn nice lor, it's like mango milkshake with tadpole jellies inside! Great recommendation by Devil Goh! Ok, I shall eat more of it during my training at The Arcade!

If you want to stand out from the crowd, then do go n queue for Donut Factory and carry the boxes of donuts around Singapore. People will naturally look at the boxes you're carrying. And many braved souls will come forward and ask you many questions. Some will just gossip behind your bag. You will hear familiar words like "that donut lor", "queue", "siao". One uncle even offered me $6 just for 1 piece of donut, but I could feel he's not serious. Luckily i rejected his offer. I must say I'm a star today! Muahahaha!

After Devil Goh went back to work, Devil Tan and I decided to walk to AMOY Market to have Zhen Jie's iced cheng teng & Bake_Of muffins. We managed to eat the wonderful iced cheng teng, but muffins were already sold out. Nevermind, I shall go back and buy some one fine day before I start work.

I'm going have donuts for dinner! Ok, it's above average but for less than a dollar per donut, I think it's worth to queue. Oh, there's still the fun of queuing which is non-monetary benefit! On the flipside, there will be huge intake of calories and plenty of exercise to do. =(

Ok, it's donuts time!!!

NTU CONVOCATION 2007

3 years had passed so quickly! And I could still vividly remember my short stay in Hall 11 during my 1st year. Those horrible & boring projects, presentations, lectures, tutorials, forgetting seminars and most importantly examinations! Those stressful days are all HISTORY now, which forms part of LJQ's history book.

I was super duper pleased during my convocation, simply because it was a ceremony to mark an end to my studies in school. I think my parents were super proud of me that day. I think all parents in this world would if their kids. Though working is more stressful, there's reward at the end - monetary reward. Hahaha~ Enough said. Here's some photos to share:

I was rushing here and there today to in order to tailor a dress pants for work. CK and I were supposed to meet at 12pm to go to Joo Chiat Complex to buy cloth for my dress pants and her short sleeve shirt BUT she woke up at 11.45am (GREAT!). And she postponed the meeting to 2pm. Luckily I gave her a call, else I would be like a dumbo waiting at the bus stop.

Within an hour we got our cloth and buttons, all credit goes to me because CK doesn't know how to differentiate the shops inside Joo Chiat Complex. As usual, I asked the shop owners for discount.

Me: Uncle, can sell cheaper or not.
CK: We're still student.
Uncle: Yah, I can see you two are still students.

I'm addicted to asking for discount whenever I had the opportunity to do so. Haha~ I love being aunty (only in terms of asking for discounts k)!!! Can save some money lor cause I'm like super broke now after buying clothes and shoes for work.

And material for my dress pants cost $8.70, while CK's cloth for her shirt cost $11. And $20 for aunty's workmanship. So my dress pants would be $28.70 ($8.70 + $20) but chio-ness is not guaranteed (read on to find out why). Haha~ CK's short sleeve shirt will cost $32 ($11 + $20 + $1 buttons), more expensive than mine. I think because she bought too much cloth. That time make long sleeve blouse buy 2m, now wanna make short sleeve blouse also buy 2m.

Afterwhich, we went back to CK's house to get her shirt and pants as samples for the tailor aunty. The aunty couldn't use CK's pants as a sample because our sizes are different (sounds like imitation instead of tailoring huh?). So I had to walk home to get my own pants as a sample for her. And my that only pants is super UGLY. Btw, she forced CK to stay back to repair her computer screen. Haha~ Oh, did I mention that I had to pass her my Iora catalogue just to show her what kind of pocket I want? I hope she returns it to me.

My sixth sense is telling me that my pants will turn out bad. Simply because the aunty says she specialises in making aunty pants and she has to have sample!!! Machiam not like tailor lor, more like IMITATION/COPYING leh...

She actually told me that she will try her best to do it but no promises. =( Anyway, the worse scenario is to get a dress pants that look exactly like my sample but in different colour. And probably cheaper? But still ugly. Haha~ If it turns out to be as ugly, then I will just stuff it somewhere in my cupboard and not tell my mum about it (just to save myself from her grumblings). =X Then I will ask my mum to ask my neighbour to make one for me, but of course more expensive cause she's a professional tailor.

1 week left to convocation! My brother is going to work at the event so he doesnt have any excuses not to go. Muahaha! I will force him to take pictures together with my parents. Yippie! =) I love taking family photos. Haha~

Oh, I'm going for medical checkup tomorrow. I freaking hate going for medical checkup lah! I think I might faint cause there is suppose to be a blood test. I will feel weak upon seeing needles and blood. I hate the height & weight thingy plus the urine test too. Eeeekkksss!!! All in all, I seriously hate medical checkup.

Anyway, it's time to slack again!!! =P

I just discovered that there is actually a "Contact Lens Practitioners Act (Chapter 53A)" under the Singapore Statutes! I got to know this because I was researching about contact lenses as I was deciding whether to wear them again after 3 long years.

According to Chapter 53A P11: "Every registered contact lens practitioner and every person who holds a provisional licence shall display his licence conspicuously at the principal place of his practice as a contact lens practitioner." Next time do remember to check their licence before purchasing from your practitioner.

There is also a register of contact lens practitioners under HSA. Here's the website:
http://www.hsa.gov.sg/collins/enquiry/enquiry.do?action=mainPage&hit=HIT&module=EXTM03 (Better check now!!!)

I did a simple search and discovered that only 1 out of 3 optical shops in my neighbourhood, is actually registered under HSA. (-__-)"' Super KNS right? No licence still sell contact lens. They wanna make us blind issit?! They should have more integrity. *Sigh*

Okay, I'm not angry about anything now (I've gotten over it already) but I just want to make things clear. I'm not trying to start another war but just to let you know how I feel. So read this with an open mind if you can, if not just close this window. This person should know who he/her is.

Since you are so particular about these kind of occasions, why didn't you make it a point to make that everything is right? I'm just helping you all get the stuff since I'm getting it for my friend too. So I felt your comments were unfair to me. Everyone should be responsible for this incident. So next time, we should not assume that things are going to be the way you want it to be. So make sure we ask and clarify so that misunderstandings wont happen again.

Anyway, just to point a mistake to you. You are not only irritating at times. You're CONSTANTLY irritating. And since you are well aware that you're insensitive, irritating & bias, isn't it time to change these bad habits? And did you realise that all kinds of arguments always revolve around you and another person? You complain that someone is always late and doesn't change. How about you? You know you are irritating, yet you continue to be even more irritating. Maybe when you become less irritating then we all will have a love-love relationship with you instead of the hate-with-minimal-love relationship. Then this world will be a better place to live in!

Anyway, I assure you that there's no hard feelings in writing this post (because I'm immune to your nonsense). I became tolerant to SUPER DUPER tolerant over the years. If you cant change, then you should learn to keep quiet at critical times. And you better not go around offending your colleagues/ group mates as they might not be as understanding as us (Jie Jies you lian guo/ 姐姐有炼过得哦)! I'm saying all these for your own good ok. So dont 2 eyes in, 2 eyes out hor.

I tried to wake up at 7am this morning to jog before going for Devil Goh's commencement ceremony at NUS. BUT it rained. Haha~ It's fated that should need a break but I'm rather slack this week, meaning that I will have to work harder next week?! Haha~

Anyway, collected the roses at 9am. Meet Neo neo at the bus stop outside Mad Jack to take bus service 151 to NUS University Cultural Center. I was given "shit" when I reached the center which sort of spoiled my mood. But anyway I still feel extremely happy for Devil Goh! It's an end to her years of suffering. She doesn't have to pop down panadols frequently as her life is rather carefree, not to mention about having to bear with the aunties at her workplace. OH!!! I saw quite a few celebs at the ceremony! First there was Hong Junyang. Then there was Dong Shu Hua (the elegant news anchor for Channel U). Devil Goh's cousin was jokingly saying that she wanna go over to HJY, call him Weilian and then get his autograph. Haha~ I think if she were to really do so, he would be damn paiseh lor.

Some pictures to share:

Devil Tan & I joined Devil Goh's bf and her sis' plus her cousin's family for lunch. We tagged along to Suntec City because we were promised free lunch. Haha~ Many thanks for the delicious lunch!!! Free lunch was followed by free Yami yoghurt. Fruit Tutti taste nice but I still think their peach flavour is the best amongst all other flavours.

HAPPY GRADUATION DEVIL GOH!!!

Tomorrow will be CK's commencement and I seriously hope everything will be fine. Oh and I'll be going for SPI's talk tomorrow night from 8PM - 11PM at Toa Payoh SAFRA. It's going to be a long day. Sianz.

Tomorrow will be Devil Goh's convocation. I guess everyone who is graduating will be feeling relieved and sad.Happy because it's an end to our 20+ years of studying and sad because we have to stand on our own feet and not be able to receive anymore pocket money. Haha! Anyway, I went to order roses for YT, CK and also on Neo neo's behalf. Got a great cheap deal for them (I'm so nice & helpful =D).

Oh, I watched Transformers: The Movie this afternoon. Haha! It was damn hilarious lor, so unlike the moive that is now showing in the cinema. There are a lot of different kinds of autobots like rhino, dino, casette tape player, etc. Super CUTE. I'm totally addicted to Transformer and I want the toys! You all can buy it and give it to me on my convo. I wont mind. Haha!

I was so bored at home till I went to study the CD that was given by EY. I only managed to do 1 one the many boring parts to it. It's like a revision of 2 very important modules - reminds me of the stressful days in school. IT'S ALL OVER NOW. My life is going to be worse than those times spent in school! I think I'm just selling my youth to my company - lots of overtime, high level of stress, office politics, going for courses, striving for good performance, etc. MY LIFE IS GOING TO BE SO KNS! I wonder if I will be able to survive for 3 years?! Audit 1 yr will lead to about 5 yrs of prematured aging. I think I better spend my 1st paycheck on SKII! I would prefer my future birthday gifts to haven antiaging effects like collagen, Q10, antioxidant, antiwrinkles, etc. Nevermind, I shall make full use of my remaining 1 month holiday!!!

I wanna complain about the GST Hike!!! It's just another 2% increase in GST and I think most of the businesses are using this as an excuse for price increase. And their increase is generally more than 2%. I can cite 2 examples for now. If i have more evidence, I will definitely post it up!!! It's so frustrating to see businesses make good use of the GST hike at our (as consumers) expense!

#1: McDonald's
Student meal used to be S$4. It's now S$4.50! This is a 12.5% increase, 6 times more than the prescribed 2%!

#2: Shilin Zha Ji Pa
Used to be S$3 and now it's S$3.20! A 6.67% increase!!!

If u were to ask them about the price increase, they will just say it's the increase in GST! I feel it's more that they are using it as an excuse so that they can make more profit out of this!!! Any watchdog to prevent businesses from abusing this GST Hike thingy?! ARGGGHHH!!! It's like super unethical of these businesses!!!

Today, I went to EY to collect:

1. Pencil case & calculator

I was given a big and bulky black pencil case with EY logo and it's slogan on it. These are stitched on so it's not that cheapskate. In it, there is a HUGE hole puncher, a box of staples, paper clips, and reinforcement rings as well as 3 pens (red, green, blue), one yellow highlighter, mechanical pencil, pencil lead, 1 ruler, Postit pad and 1 bottle of liquid paper (plastic tip). I hope they can last me for quite sometime. Oh and there's EY's logo printed on the Casio calculator! Haha~ Not so cheapo after all! And there's a letter that made everyone extremely delighted! :)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The pencil case is almost as long as my laptop!

2. Materials for the upcoming training in Penang

There's a CD for us to go through before going for our training. The worse thing is, we have to report to the airport at 6am! KNS! So early go airport for what? Probably air tickets for this kind of time slot is much cheaper? At least it's going to SIA so I shouldnt complain so much?

Anyway, I wanna say 1 Raffles Quay is damn pretty! Quite classy and the view is great. And there are quite a few yandaos working there I think. Haha~ But it's a bit far from the MRT station lor. Still prefer the old premise at Ocean Building cos it's super near the MRT station. Haha~ I cant walk too far with my covered toe heels.

After collecting our stuff, we went to watch Transformers! And while waiting for the movie to start, I went shopping with Devil Tan and I bought a new pair of jelly from Novo because my cheapo one (from online spree) is on the verge of breaking! Haha~ What a great excuse to buy new shoes ("because my shoes are going to spoil, I cant walk with them")!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Transformers is good! The whole movie is so damn super exciting! I love the sound of the Autobots transforming! Oh, I love the cars inside and the way the "upgrade" themselves to look newer and more classy! I also love Optimus Prime (18 wheeler), Bumblebee (Camaro), Jazz (modified Pontiac Solstice) and Ironhide (modified GMC Topkick 6500)! Of course Optimus Prime and Bumbleebee are my favourites!

But I think their transformation is way too fast and it's so unlike the anime where they take super long time to transform. Haha~ Transform slower then can see the process carefully mah right? Anyway, I think Michael Bay did a FANTASTIC job with this movie! I hope there will be a continuation to this movie. Maybe be something like the anime, where all the Autobots will combine into a big transformer? More transformations please!

Okay, enough of talking so much about Autobots already. Time to discuss Decepticons. Megatron, Barricade, Starscream & Blackout do look evil and destructive and thus fit their image.

Overall, it's a great show and also helped to bring back fond memories of my childhood cartoons that I've watched with my brother. I can still remember Transformers then was called "Transfomers: Robots in Disguise". I think my brother remembers these things better than I do. Haha~

I've joined 2 women's only event, i.e Women's dayout 3 hr aerobics challenge and Shape 5km run (I think I'll collapse halfway if I join the 10km run :P). Spent $35 in total for these 2 events but their goodie bags are quite worth this price! :) So now I've quite a few friends who are joining the Shape run they are: WJ, Jan, Neo, SY, LY, CK, Win.

Oh and my dearest Miss Neo has promised to give me the goodies inside the bag because she only want the runner's tee shirt and bag.

Here's the evidence:
neo-->biased to curry puff says:
i wan e tee n e bag
neo-->biased to curry puff says:
e rest can give u

Haha! Neo, u better dont go back on your words! The whole world knows about it already so there's no way you can break your promise! :) Btw, I've logged our conversation too! Muahahaha! The goodies are mine!!! Thank you Neo in advance!

I think I've never run more than 2.4km at one shot. I think I will run a quarter and walk for the rest of the run. Haha!

Anyway, I think I'm great at hula hooping now!!! I think I can sustain for around 6 minutes without dropping the hoop. It's an achievement to me though this may not be something great. But it's helpful to me in the long run. I love to exercise now... Haha~
